Conceptions of Experience in the German Enlightenment between Wolff and Kant

The purpose of this conference is to analyze the various conceptions of experience at play in eighteenth-century German philosophy between Leibniz's death in 1716 and Kant's Critique of Pure Reason. During this period, the classical Aristotelian definition of experience as cognition of singulars – to some extent still present in Wolff – became confronted with the Baconian and Newtonian accounts of empirical knowledge.

The K.U.Leuven offers its LL.M. students a series of legal clinics that are only open to LL.M. students and a limited number of professionals (mainly solicitors, European Commission officials and scholars).
These clinics offer a platform to discuss contemporary issues in small groups and meet experts in their specialisation. It may also be an opportunity to establish a network with prominent practitioners.
Distinguished legal and business practitioners, representatives of the authorities and academia have accepted the invitation to lead the clinics as guest lecturers.

Whereas human beings have had cancer throughout recorded history, cancer is a very hot topic for the moment and cancer research is going through a paradigm shift. Traditionally, cancer research has been centered on transcriptional alterations and changes in protein coding genes. It is becoming clear now that cancer cells manage to deregulate almost any cell biological control mechanism in the cell, leading to the emergence of several exciting research areas and novel opportunities for therapeutic intervention.
