Context and motivation
16th European School on Rheology
The European School on Rheology is an intensive short course designed to give practicing engineers and scientists in the field of soft matter an understanding of the fundamentals of rheology, its principles of measurement and its application to problem solving. The rheology school at KU Leuven is taught by well-known rheologists, both from Europe as well as the US. The international lecturers involved in the 2017 edition are, Gerry Fuller, Patrick Anderson, Chris Macosko, Giuseppe Marrucci, Randy Ewoldt, Paula Moldenaers, Peter Van Puyvelde, Christian Clasen and Jan Vermant.
ISMA42 - Modal Analysis Theory and Practice
This two day course on modal analysis is organised for the 42th time by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the KU Leuven. The course is set up as a general introduction with emphasis on data-acquisition and multi-channel modal testing. It is an intensive training course, where theoretical lectures are illustrated by numerous integrated demonstrations. A full scale multi-channel survey of a real life structure will be conducted and lectures on relevant industrial case studies are included.
ISAAC28 - Advanced Techniques in Applied and Numerical Acoustics
The 2017 KU Leuven Course on Applied & Numerical Acoustics will take place in September 2017 in Leuven, Belgium. It is the 28th in a series of courses on experimental and numerical techniques in applied acoustics, organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the KU Leuven. This edition of the KU Leuven Applied Acoustics Course is set up as an extended overview of some recent techniques in applied acoustics with emphasis on applications in automotive and aerospace industry.
